Radiological departments are equipped with modern direct digital radiography system. With digital equipment, we can obtain maximally accurate images and issue them in convenient electronic form. The practice operates under authorization from the President of the State Atomic Energy Agency, and employees and outsiders are protected through appropriate safeguards and dosimetric control.
The clinic uses, among other equipment, devices that produce ionizing radiation for animal diagnostics — an X-ray imaging device and a computed tomography (CT) scanner. The X-ray facilities where these devices are used were commissioned based on permits issued by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency. The clinic monitors the exposure of staff and the public based on environmental dosimetry carried out by an accredited laboratory. Clinic staff have been trained in radiation protection by a qualified radiation protection inspector from RADIOVET – radiovet.pl. Properly shielded walls and ceilings of the rooms, adopted working methods, implemented processes and procedures, as well as regular dose readings, ensure that the clinic’s activities involving exposure to ionizing radiation have no negative impact on human health or the environment.
